Alpha is a 10-week video course designed for anyone who has questions about Christian belief and practice. Small groups meet weekly for dinner followed by a video and discussion. All kinds of questions are encouraged and the discussions are upbeat and lively. Included is a weekend away after about the sixth week. The small groups have so much fun that they often remain together when the course is over. At the end of the course, a celebration dinner is held for the graduates and their friends and family. The Alpha video presentations are by Nicky Gumbel, a former London solicitor, now an Anglican minister, who is highly articulate, witty, and dynamic. Each week, a major question is posed and discussed beginning with a Nicky Gumel video called “Christianity - Boring, Untrue and Irrelevant?”
